The Johnstone River Crocodile Park is conveniently located just 90kms south of Cairns and approximately 2.5 hours north of Townsville on the road to Flying Fish Point on the outskirts of Innisfail. The Park lies in the lush tropical region know as the Cassowary Coast which is bounded by the two World Heritage Listed areas of the Great Barrier Reef and the Wet Tropics Rainforest.

Several tour companies include the Park in their itinerary from Cairns.

A succesful day trip from Cairns could take in other nearby destinations including:
